Oakland Raiders Rumors: Josh Cribbs Cut From Roster As More Releases Loom Around NFL

The Oakland Raiders made a number of moves in the offseason to improve on offense and now one of those will not be in the plans for the team in 2013, as Josh Cribbs was released from the roster.

According to ESPN.com, Cribbs was cut from the team with a number of other players and now he likely will try and find a home elsewhere. Cribbs appeared to be a nice fit for the Raiders, but after having knee issues and surgery in the offseason, he was released. Cribbs previously played in eight seasons with the Browns and after fumbling against the Chicago Bears on Friday night in the preseason, the team decided to part ways with him.

The Raiders brought in Cribbs as insurance for Jacoby Ford, who is one of the fastest players on the team and also was set to return kicks. Ford dealt with some injuries this summer and now he will get the chance to step up and be the main return man this season. The Raiders are excited about Menelik Watson returning and playing with the first team offense and now Terrelle Pryor will start the final preseason game for the team.

The team also released, according to ESPN.com: linebackers Keenan Clayton and Eric Harper, fullback Jon Hoese, wide receivers Sam McGuffie, Tray Session and Isaiah Williams, guard Andrew Robiskie, cornerback Cory Nelms and defensive tackle Myles Wade.
