The New England Patriots and the New York Giants will be playing in the final week of the preseason and if quarterback Tim Tebow isn't cut by the Tuesday deadline, he likely will be playing for a roster spot on Thursday night.
Tebow did not play in the third preseason game in the 40-9 loss against the Lions and now he could be looking at another release, as the Patriots already feel comfortable with Ryan Mallett as their backup quarterback. The team could be looking to see what Tebow does on Thursday before making a move, but head coach Bill Belichick likely has an idea of what he will do regardless of the outcome of the game. The team gave Tebow a two-year deal so it's not likely they will cut him, but Belichick has made moves like that before.
Tebow did not factor at all into the Lions game and he has been uneven so far in two preseason games, but the quarterback said that he is preparing like normal and isn't worried about getting cut. Tebow has completed nine of his 24 passes this preseason with one interception and with Mallett ahead of him, Belichik may not want to keep three quarterbacks on the roster.
Tebow will have the most intrigue heading into the game and it is likely he will make it onto the 53-man final roster.
