The final preseason game between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets will feature one thing, the most publicized quarterback battle. While Mark Sanchez will not take the field in Thursday's game. Geno Smith will likely see a lot of playing time, as well backup Matt Simms. With Sanchez injured, Smith is poised to impress coaches, something he has failed to do so far in the preseason.

The Eagles will be resting players like Michael Vick. Nick Foles will likely see a little playing time, while rookie Matt Barkley could get plenty of action in the game. The Eagles are ready to start the year after Vick was officially named the starter. After finishing last in the NFC East, the team is hoping to finalize a few roster spots and prepare for the opening game. They will likely focus on defense with very few standout players on that side of the ball. The team's secondary remains the biggest question.

The Jets need this final preseason game. They need at least two more preseason games. Right now, there is no bigger mess in football than the Jets. The quarterback's are struggling. The receivers are struggling. The defense is the only thing to brag about. With Santonio Holmes still out, expect Jeremy Kerley and Stephen Hill to get increased playing time time on Thursday.

The Eagles are looking for depth in the secondary. This final game could serve as a telling of who is tradable and who is not. After team cuts, they could use to grab at least another cornerback. The Jets have newly signed Graham Harrell they need to test out. He could see some icreased playing time with Greg McElroy out with injury.
