Browns vs. Chicago Bears Live Stream: Watch Online NFL Preseason TV Streaming Free Game Starts At 8 PM

The Chicago Bears and the Cleveland Browns both missed the playoffs last season and both teams are coming into 2013 with new head coaches as well as a new outlook and the two will face off in Week 4 of the preseason on Thursday night to finish off their schedules.

Both teams are 2-1 in the preseason and the Bears are coming in with high expectations for Jay Cutler, although it unlikely that the starters will play long. The Cleveland Browns were one of the most active teams during the NFL draft this year after making moves out of the fourth and fifth rounds to get future picks for 2014 and while some in the media criticized the pick, including on NBC Sports, the team has defended the moves based on the talent they saw on the board.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that the Browns organization felt that the players on the board were simply not to their liking and they felt that picks in next year's third and fourth rounds would be worth more than this year's fourth and fifth round picks. While the move was knocked by some in the media, the Browns feel that having more picks for next season is wise with names like Teddy Bridgewater, Jadeveon Clowney, Sammy Watkins, Johnny Manziel and Marqise Lee likely entering the draft.

The report from the paper says that members of the Browns organization were angry that some suggested that they were not happy with the work of scouts with the team still there from the previous regime. A source refuted that notion and said the team simply didn't like the value for players at that position and wanted to try and gain extra picks for next season, when they feel the talent pool is better. Though the players mentioned above will likely not make it out of the first round, the Browns could use either of the two picks to make a trade depending on how things shape up next season and in the time leading up to the draft.

With Mike Lombardi at the helm, the team selected defensive end Barkevious Mingo with their number one pick and during the summer they will work with him on fitting into a 3-4 defense after playing in the 4-3 previously. Due to the trades, the Browns ended up with five players total, the earliest pick being at number six with Mingo. According to some reports, the team had the chance to trade with the St. Louis Rams for the number six pick, which would have given the Brown the number 16 pick along with two other picks in the second and seventh round. The Rams wanted to move up to get Tavon Austin and the team eventually did that with the Bills and as a story by Peter King in Sports Illustrated showed, the team very much wanted Austin.

The team drafted Mingo, defensive back Leon McFadden, safety Jamoris Slaughter from Notre Dame, defensive end Anthony Bryant and tackle Garrett Gilkey with the final pick. Slaughter is recovering from an injury to his Achilles, but he has potential to be a starter after playing at Notre Dame, while the team also likes the value it has in McFadden as a third rounder. The team used a supplemental pick in the second round last year on Josh Gordon and while they didn't have a second rounder this year because of it, Gordon turned out to be the team's top playmaker on offense last season.
