Orioles Trade Rumors: Michael Morse Traded After Waiver Claim From Mariners For Baltimore Playoff Run

The Baltimore Orioles made the playoffs last season for the first time in years and now they are trying to make it again as a wild card and as the race starts heating up, the team made a new addition by claiming Michael Morse off waivers and traded for him from the Mariners.

According to ESPN.com, the Orioles were the team that claimed him off waivers and they worked out a deal with outfielder Xavier Avery heading to Seattle. Morse came to the team as a in a trade and was hot to start the year, but he fell off with an injury after getting hit in the hand and never quite recovered. Morse has power and he missed 31 games and he has hit .226 with 13 home runs and that is what the O's will be looking for.

The Mariners have had a rough season and now the Orioles will get the chance to add some power to the lineup through a waiver deal. The Mariners were rumored to be dealing Morse this season at the trading deadline and nothing got done and now he will head to the Orioles after also previously playing for the Nationals as well.
