Mariano Rivera NOT Retiring After ACL Injury: "I'm Coming Back"

Many thought they had seen the last of Mariano Rivera when he tore his ACL before the Yankees Thursday night game against the Royals.

The injury will likely end his season, and at 42 years old, many have wondered if he would retire. But Rivera says he'll be back on the diamond in the future.

"I'm coming back. Write it down in big letters. I'm not going out like this," Rivera told reporters today in Kansas City. "I love to play the game. To me, going out like this isn't the right way."

Rivera also indicated on his official twitter account that he doesn't plan on letting this injury end his career. "Thank you fans, friends & family for your prayers, well wishes and support." he tweeted. "I will be ok. I will be back."

In spring training Rivera indicated this might be his final year in the big leagues. It's unknown when he will return from the injury, but one thing seems to be for sure--- Rivera will pitch again.
