NFL Free Agent Rumors: Michael Turner, Terrell Owens, Willis McGahee, Brandon Lloyd and Joe McKnight Options For Cowboys or Raiders In Week 5?

The NFL preseason is in over now after the first four weeks of games finished off with the Buffalo Bills and with a number of teams dealing with injuries around the league, the free agent market may start heating up again for players who didn't make it into camp, including names like Brandon Lloyd, Cedric Benson, Brandon Jacobs, Michael Turner, Richard Seymour, Bart Scott and Deion Branch.

The San Diego Chargers may be looking on the market for a wide receiver after losing Danario Alexander for the season and there is a chance Malcom Floyd will miss time as well after injuring his knee in practice. ESPN.com reported that Floyd's MRI showed his knee was sprained and not seriously hurt, but he is getting a second opinion and either way, there is a chance that he could miss the first game of the season. Brandon Lloyd is an obvious option after he made over 70 catches for the Patriots last season and other wideout options include Deion Branch and Terrell Owens as well as Laurent Robinson.

The Chargers have Eddie Royal and Vincent Brown as options along with rookie Keenan Allen, but the position is not deep after that and with all the injuries it could be trouble for head coach Mike McCoy and quarterback Philip Rivers going forward. Floyd's injury could linger and he has had issues in the past with staying healthy, including when he missed two games last season and he has yet to play in a full 16-game season in his career.

Vince Young was signed by the Green Bay Packers during the summer, but so far things with other quarterbacks on the market has been slow and that could change if anyone gets hurt in the upcoming week of preseason games. Players like JaMarcus Russell and Matt Leinart are still out there, but they will only get chances if someone goes down. The defensive side of the ball still has some name players with Richard Seymour, Bart Scott, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Dave Tollefson and Cedric Griffin among others. Eric Wright was signed by the 49ers after their trade with the Bucs fell through and Kerry Rhodes is also available.

The running back position has some name players available, including veterans like Willis McGahee, Cedric Benson, Brandon Jacobs and Michael Turner. McGahee was released by the Broncos earlier this summer after the team decided to go with Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman at the position and it comes as he was going to be making over $2 million in 2013. McGahee is 32-years-old and he was coming back after a serious knee injury and with his past of those injuries, the team decided to cut him loose. McGahee had interest from a number of teams after he was released, but he was never picked up and he could catch on with a team if someone goes down during first week of the season.
