Australia will look to pull off an upset when they take on South Africa in the Rugby Championship.
The Wallabies will have to be ready for a physical assault from the Springboks, especially with the for,er missing the likes of captain James Horwill, David Pocock, Scott Higginbotham, Tatafu Polota-Nau and Wycliff Palu.
Will Genia will captain Australia in the absence of Horwill, and the last time Genia captained the Wallabies in September last year, Australia pulled off a 26-19 win over South Africa.
"Will is a proven leader and has had plenty of success as captain for the Queensland Reds and also for Australia," Australia coach Ewen McKenzie said.
"He is a player that thrives with the added responsibility and he has always stepped up when given the opportunity to lead. I'm sure this will bring the best out of him.
"It's extremely disappointing to lose James but after discussions with medical staff we felt it was important not to risk further injury when he isn't ready.
"Scans revealed his injury was on the lower-end in terms of severity and we expect him to be back to full fitness when we embark on our two-game tour of South Africa and Argentina in a few weeks."
South Africa coach Heyneke Meyer has singled out Israel Folau as the danger man. "I don't want to talk the Wallabies up," Meyer said. I want to talk my own team up, but he's (Folau) been a revelation to watch in Super Rugby. At the end of the day it doesn't matter which country you coach, I love to see him play.
"I really believe he's one of the best game breakers in world rugby and he's only played properly for one season."
