Ryan Dempster will get the go ahead nod for the Boston Red Sox as they look to take another AL East title, but first they'll need to take on the Tampa Bay Rays on the road Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Boston is on the verge of their first division title since 2007 and have done so by winning 13 of 16 games before a 4-3 loss to the New York Yankees on Sunday. Since then the Red Sox have managed to bounce back with a 2-0 victory in Tuesday's series opener.

"We've played good in a lot of aspects of the game," outfielder Jonny Gomes told the team's website. "That's what we have to do to stay in first in major league baseball. You need to pitch, you need to play D and you need to touch the dish. It's something we've done."

Dempster will look for his third straight win since being handed a five-game suspension for intentionally hitting Yankees' third baseman Alex Rodriguez on Aug. 18. Since his return he's given up four runs, while striking out seven batters in over six innings in Wednesday's game against the Detroit Tigers last week.

"One through nine, we have a guy that can hit the ball over the fence," Dempster said. "That's something not a lot of teams have."
