The investigation into Aaron Hernandez continues and now that a grand jury is looking into his possible connection to a double murder from Boston last summer, his girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins could be worried about the ramifications if the two men compelled to testify do so.
The grand jury is looking into the deaths of Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu, who were killed last summer in Boston in a drive-by shooting. According to ESPN.com, two men connected with Hernandez have been called to testify about the case and already one of the men has not shown up for a scheduled hearing to see if he would do so. Alexander Bradley is already suing Hernandez in another case that accuses the Patriots tight end of shooting him and now an arrest warrant has been issued for him after not coming to the hearing that would find out if he would testify or not.
Hernandez was just indicted in superior court for the murder of Odin Lloyd and now he could be facing further charges or an indictment if the grand jury finds he was connected to the double murder. Reports have Hernandez at the same nightclub as the men the night of the murder and the drive by shooting was reportedly done by a silver or gray SUV with Rhode Island plates and a vehicle fitting that description was found at Hernandez's uncle's home by police.
The other man apart from Bradley asked to testify is John Alcorn, who is related to Hernandez's cousin Tanya Singleton, who was also asked to testify, but she is being held in jail without bail after refusing to testify against Hernandez despite the state trying to give her immunity. Singleton's husband was killed in a car crash before police could speak with him about the Lloyd murder and she is connected to both cases, as she lived at home with Hernandez's uncle and also reportedly bought accomplice Ernest Wallace a bus ticket after the Lloyd shooting.
Hernandez was arrested the week after the killing of Lloyd and he has pled not guilty in the case and now he could be facing further trouble if evidence comes out against him in the double murder. Reports have speculated that the death of Lloyd may have been tied to knowledge he had about the double murder and whether Hernandez was involved, but that has not been substantiated yet.
Hernandez has pled not guilty to the charges and he could be facing life in prison for the death of Lloyd. Lawyers argue that the killing stemmed from a nightclub dispute and many have said that Hernandez looks guilty in the crime, although his lawyers say the evidence is circumstantial. The case could go to trial next fall.
