Aaron Hernandez is currently awaiting trial for the murder of Odin Lloyd after being arraigned officially in superior court in Massachusetts and with a possible connection still out there for a separate double murder, a new grand jury has been put together to look into it.
According to ESPN.com, one of two men that were called before the grand jury, John Alcorn, appeared on Thursday after being ordered to do so and he came in connected to the case through Thaddeus Singleton, who was married to Hernandez's cousin Tanya before he died in a vehicle crash over the summer. Singleton was being looked at as someone to question by police and he died before they could speak to him.
Alcorn is connected to the case through Singleton and the report also says that he is known as "Chicago", which makes him connected to the gun used in the double murder last year. While his lawyer said he is not connected to the gun, when it was found the woman who had it told police that it belonged to Alcorn. Hernandez associate Alexander Bradley also has to appear and if enough evidence comes up, Hernandez could be facing charges.
Hernandez was arrested the week after Lloyd's body was found less than a mile from his home in North Attleboro and he now is facing life in prison on the charges. Lloyd and Hernandez were first connected through Hernandez's fiancé, as Lloyd was reportedly dating Shayanna Jenkins' sister Shaneah. Hernandez was released from the Patriots the day he was arrested and now he could potentially spend life in prison if found guilty for the death of Lloyd.
Hernandez now is also being investigated by a second grand jury after he was previously indicted for the murder of Lloyd and this time it is in connection with a double murder from Boston last year. Hernandez has not been officially implicated or officially connected with the crime, but some evidence has pointed in his direction, including a vehicle that was found at his uncle's home in Bristol that fit the description from the night of the murder.
The double murders of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado occurred last July after a possible dispute at a nightclub in Boston and Hernandez was seen on surveillance video that night when the shooting occurred. Police reports have the two men getting into an altercation with Hernandez's group, and that could have led to the incident.
