The family of Odin Lloyd, the semi-professional football player that was allegedly murdered by Aaron Hernandez, was honored by his former team the Boston Bandits last week, including with a dedication and a jersey ceremony.

According to CW56.com, the Bandits played in honor of Lloyd during their game on Friday, which happened to follow the arraignment of Hernandez in superior court for the murder of Lloyd. The report says that Lloyd's mother and his sister Olivia watched the game from the stands and also were given jerseys by the team with his number on it and they said after the game that they felt honored by the gesture.

Lloyd's mother and family were in the courtroom on Friday for Hernandez's arraignment in Fall River superior court, as were Hernandez's fiance Shayanna Jenkins and his mother Terri, sitting very close by as seen in pictures. Hernandez has pled not guilty to first degree murder charges and five other gun charges and he was arrested the week after Lloyd's body was found shot near his home in North Attleboro.

The report says that the Bandits played on the same field where Lloyd played in high school and his family said they felt honored that the team was playing in his memory this season. Hernandez will be in Bristol County house of correction in Dartmouth until a trial date is set after being denied bail twice, but his lawyers likely will ask for bail at least one more time in October, which is the next scheduled court appearance for the accused former Patriots tight end.
