The Giants are playing their home opener, which should be a slight advantage. However, Peyton Manning is not threatened by any crowd and after his Week 1 performance, he will probably be extra confident as he faces his little brother. Eli Manning also had a great game, but he will need a running game to back him up and will try to turn the ball over less in his Week 2 matchup.
The Broncos will look for their second victory of the year after defeating the defending champion Baltimore Ravens, 49-27 in the NFL's season opener. Manning has been terrific after returning to action and is looking to take his Broncos back to the playoffs, where they were eliminated by these same Ravens. Demaryius and Julius Thomas and Wes Welker each finished Week 1 with two touchdown receptions. Manning has the weapons available to embarrass little brother Eli at Metlife Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Eli is trying to involve a running game into the Giants' offense. David Wilson fumbled twice against the Cowboys in Week 1, prompting Tom Coughlin to bench their second year running back. The Giants did well despite only having a decent aerial attack. They almost mounted a comeback that fell short after Da'Rel Scott tipped a ball into the Cowboys' defense's hands, turning a Giants' screen into a pick-six.
The Giants' running game struggles also prompted the front office to go out and acquire running back, Brandon Jacobs. The Giants now have a power back who can push the ball into the end zone. Wilson clumsily fumbled inside the red zone as the Giants were trying to get on the board. Jacobs can probably teach the youngster a few things.
