The Jacksonville Jaguars have mustered up just 11 points in two games this season and with no end in sight with a road game against the Seattle Seahawks next week, fans have organized a rally asking the franchise to sign Tim Tebow for Monday at 3:16 p.m. in the Everbank Field parking lot.
According to Deadspin.com and the website jags-tebow.com, fans are asking for Jaguars supporters and Tim Tebow supporters to come out and rally in support of the team signing the free agent quarterback. Tebow was released by the New England Patriots before the season started and now he is a free agent again after he was also previously released by the Jets. The Jaguars have been steadfast in not trying to sign Tebow and even though the team is terrible, they have shown no signs of changing their minds.
Fans have been asking the team to sign Tebow for quite some time, including in petitions to the White House, online websites as well as local commercials, but nothing has swayed the team from its stance on not bringing him in. The reason for it is understandable, but the Jaguars are looking at this the wrong way, as Tebow has proven to be a winner and he has already won a playoff game and a division title in his career, something that Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne have never done.
The new website asks for people to pledge to buy season tickets if the team signs Tebow and they have also set up Facebook pages and have said that the rally at 3:16 will go three hours and 16 minutes in honor of Tebow. The fans want Tebow to get signed and the way the Jaguars have been playing, almost anything would be an improvement over this.
The team already ranks 28th and 30th in passing and rushing yards per game on average this season and in their two games they have not been able to get anting going offensively, losing 28-2 in Week 1 and then 19-9 in Week 2.
