Aaron Hernandez Murder Case: Patriots Matt Light Refutes Comments About TE, Claims He Never Said Anything About Hernandez

The Aaron Hernandez murder case is currently in the court system and it will be quite some time before any trial hits the scene and with a court date looming next month, former Patriots lineman Matt Light has come out to refute some past comments that were reported on about Hernandez and the case.

According to Pro Football Talk, Light was previously quoted in the Dayton Daily News as saying after the crime came to light that he "never believed in anything Aaron Hernandez stood for," but now he is walking those back. Those quotes were reported on heavily when the crime first came out and now Light says that he did not ever say anything about Hernandez. The report from Pro Football Talk says that Light mentioned in a radio interview that he was not around at the time and was working with his foundation and did not speak with any reporters about the Hernandez case.

Hernandez is currently awaiting his next court date in the case and that is scheduled for October and that could be when a trial date is scheduled, most likely for the Fall of 2014 as many experts have predicted. Hernandez was arrested for the murder a week after Odin Lloyd's body was found and the Patriots released him the day he was taken into custody.

Hernandez was considered to be one of the best young tight ends in football and now he could spend the rest of his life behind bars. Hernandez is facing first degree murder charges and five other gun charges and he is being held in solitary as he awaits his trial.
