Marlins 8, Braves 4

Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning that put the game out of reach. He also saved two runs with a diving catch in the outfield. Mark Buehrle picked up his third win as the Marlins improve to 12-3 in the month of May.

Reds 6, Mets 3

Todd Frazier didn't disappoint his hometown fans. The former Rutgers player hit two home runs in his return trip to the New York area. Jose Arredondo improved to 3-1 while Jon Rauch took the loss for the Mets.

Phillies 9, Cubs 2

A one-run game going into the ninth was blown up by a six-run inning by the Phillies that included a grand slam by Hector Luna, the first of his career. Both starting pitchers pitched at least six innings and gave up two runs.

Astros 8, Brewers 3

Carlos Lee had three hits including a home run and Bud Norris improved his record to 4-1. He gave up just four hits, one run and a season-high nine strikeouts over seven innings.

Cardinals 4, Giants 1

Jaime Garcia matched a career high with nine strikeouts to help him earn the win. David Freese's solo shot in the seventh broke a 1-1 tie and put the Cardinals up for good.

Rockies 6, Diamondback 1

Jamie Moyer continues to put the younger generation to shame. Not only did the 49-year-old lefty pitch six plus innings to get the win, he also drove in two runs with an infield single. The two RBIs tied Moyer's single game record. Moyer improved his record to 2-3.

Nationals 7, Pirates 4

Adam LaRoche notched his 1,000th career hit right after hitting a home run for hit No. 999. "Shoot, I feel like I've been playing 50 years to get 1,000. I'm serious," said the 32-year-old LaRoche. "To look at some of these guys -- 3,000-plus hits is just unbelievable."

Gio Gonzalez struck out 10 to take the National League lead in strikeouts, passing his teammate Stephen Strasburg.

Padres 4, Dodgers 2

Chase Headley homered, doubled and had three RBIs to help the last place Padres beat the first place Dodgers.
