Dimitar Berbatov - a name that has been pretty much forgotten in Manchester - admitted his time as a United player is up and will look for pasture anew this summer.
Having started just 5 Premier League games all season, Berbatov said he felt let down by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
"We talked 10 times. He (Ferguson) told me there would be a place for me but I stayed on the bench," Berbatov told the Sun.
"My time at Manchester is running out. I No longer feel like a valuable part of the team."
United picked up on an option to extend his contract to another year in March, and having done so will look to recuperate some amount for the 31-year old who cost the Manchester club 30 million pounds, when they bought him from Tottenham Hotspur in 2008.
"I am a little frustrated by the way this happened. I do not think I deserved it."
"I think I did well in the opportunities I received."
"But I have dignity and I stopped going to such meetings, it's clear that I am leaving United. It is obvious that I have to leave.
Berbatov, however, insisted he would not move to arch-rivals Manchester City. "I would never join City. I am a loyal person after all. I had the opportunity to sign for City in the past, but I chose United.
Berbatov will most likely move to Italy, with Lazio favorites to sign the Bulgarian striker.
