Not a part of Chelsea's starting line-up for the Champions League final. Not selected to take a penalty in the shootout. Fernando Torres might have won the Champions League, but Chelsea's record signing is not a happy man.
Torres, who was a part of the open bus parade celebrating Chelsea's victory in London on Monday, said he would seek talks with the Chelsea hierarchy regarding his future.
"We have had many conversations, and now the season is over we will have more talks to see what happens in the future because this is not the role for which I came and I am not happy," Torres said in an interview with Guillem Balague.
"I wanted to take a penalty (in the shootout), but they didn't let me. This season I felt things I have never felt. I felt they have treated me in a way I was not expecting, not the manner for which the club brought me here."
Torres revealed seeing his name missing from the starting line-up for the final was one his most disappointing moments ever.
"I felt huge disappointment when I saw the starting line-up, maybe, the biggest disappointment of my life. In the end, I was able to play a bit and help the team," The Spaniard who came on in the 84th minute said.
"There have been any ups and downs and many moments where I felt lost and didn't know what to do.
"I'm eternally grateful to my family for supporting me, to Chelsea's owner and above all the fans. If it wasn't for the fans, I would have thrown in the towel."
Torres, who worked his socks off after coming on as a substitute, wanted clarity on his role. "Someone needs to tell me what's going to happen and what sort of role I will have within the team. What my duties are, what they expect of me and judge whether it's worth it."
