Adrian Peterson Fantasy Football Week 6: RB Status Starting Against Carolina Panthers Sunday For Vikings After 2-Year-Old Son Dies

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is going through a tragic situation after his two-year-old son died after being beaten by his mother's boyfriend and despite all that, sources close to the star said he plans to play on Sunday and while it seems trivial, fantasy owners breathed a sigh of relief, as the Vikings were off last week for a bye and Peterson has said he will be in the starting lineup against the Carolina Panthers.

According to ESPN.com, following the death of his two-year-old son from injuries sustained in a case of physical abuse, sources told the website that Peterson is "no doubt" going to play, making him a must START player in all fantasy leagues after his status was slightly up in the air following news of the incident. Reports came out late last week about Peterson being away from the team on a family matter and websites reported that he was in South Dakota and on Friday he returned to the team before his son died while on life support after sustaining injuries.

Reports from ESPN and other websites said that the boy died after getting physically abused by the boyfriend of the child's mother, a woman who Peterson did not have regular contact with despite being the mother of his child. Peterson has been one of the most consistent players in the NFL and in fantasy this season, especially at running back and after going over 2,000 yards last season, he is on pace to have another great season, as he is already second in the league with 421 yards. Peterson already has five rushing touchdowns this season and he is coming off his best game of the year, rushing for 140 yards and two scores against the Steelers in London.

Peterson has scored at least one touchdown in three of four games this season and he has not rushed for less than 88 yards in four games this year, making him one of the most consistent backs in all of football. He rushed for 100 yards against the Bears and after losing three straight games, the Vikings are coming off an international win against the Steelers in London. Peterson is an absolute START on Sunday and this will update if his status at all changes for any reason.
