NY Giants Rumors: Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin Futures In Question For New York After 0-6 Start?

The New York Giants have been terrible this season and now they are 0-6 after losing to the Chicago Bears on Thursday night, their season may hinge on their next game, a Minnesota Vikings matchup at MetLife Stadium that will be on Monday night football and leads into their bye week.

The way the Giants have played has brought up questions about both quarterback Eli Manning and head coach Tom Coughlin, but for now it appears that the franchise is waiting to see how they pull the team out of this horrible slide. While the season looks lost, currently the team is just three games out of the division with multiple NFC East games coming up. The team is in some tough times and this start could have some long-lasting effects, including that the team could possibly trade or not re-sign wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, who will be a free agent.

Manning already has as many picks as he had all last season and now questions have come up about his present and his future. Obviously he is still a great quarterback and has two Super Bowl championships, but he is playing through the toughest stretch of his career and at 0-6 Tom Coughlin could have his job on the line. Amazingly, the team is still semi-alive in the NFC, but all that starts with a win on Monday night football this week and then on the road against the Eagles next week.

The team is now 0-6 behind the 1-4 Washington Redskins and the 3-3 Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. New York has been outscored by 100 points and has given up the most in the division while scoring the least. Manning has 1,700 passing yards and nine touchdowns, but his turnovers have been killer and the running game has been terrible, with Brandon Jacobs leading and David Wilson injured. The team has gotten solid stats from HAkeem Nicks and Victor Cruz, who has four salsa dances to go along with 35 catches for 541 yards.

The Giants need to win one game or Tom Coughlin could suffer the consequences.
