Monday Night Football Score 19-9: San Diego Chargers Win Over Indianapolis Colts On ESPN MNF Game

The Colts and the San Diego Chargers will go at it on Monday Night Football on ESPN for the Week 6 matchup between Indianapolis and quarterback Philip Rivers, as Andrew Luck makes his MNF debut at 8:30 pm on the West coast at Qualcomm Stadium and the Chargers won the game 19-9 against the Colts to knock the team down to 4-2 and they improved to 3-3.

The Chargers and the Colts are one of the most intriguing matchups of the season, as the Chargers are coming into the game with a new head coach in Mike McCoy and a much improved Rivers at quarterback from last season. Trent Richardson has made a fast impact on the Colts and now they will bring a top five rushing attack into the game at over 140 yards per game and Andrew Luck will be looking to win his first ESPN prime time matchup that starts up at 8:30 pm and he will have some nice receivers to work with, as Reggie Wayne and TY Hilton have stepped up big time this season.

The Indianapolis Colts are having a great start to the season and after Andrew Luck makes his Monday Night Football debut in Week 6, the team will be hosting former quarterback Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos and at that game the team will be honoring their former starter.

According to ESPN.com, as many had expected when the game was scheduled, Colts owner Jim Irsay confirmed in an interview with USA Today that the team will honor their former quarterback when the Denver Broncos come to the Drum at Lucas Oil Stadium on October 20 in the Week 7 matchup. Irsay did not say exactly what the tribute would include, but one can speculate that a video compilation of sorts will be played at some point. Manning spent many years with the Colts before he was injured and missed the 2011 season and after the team went 1-15, the Colts and Manning parted ways, which enabled the team to select Andrew Luck with the number one overall pick in the draft.

Manning helped lead the Colts to a sustained period of success under Tony Dungy and he also won a Super Bowl with the team and multiple MVP awards before departing for Denver. Manning likely will be winning another MVP if he keeps his current pace up, as he has nearly 2,000 yards passing with 20 touchdowns and one interception while completing over 70 percent of his passes. The Broncos are 5-0 and are playing the Jacksonville Jaguars at home this week, meaning Manning likely will get the chance to add to those numbers as the team improves to 6-0.

The Colts have started off the season 4-1 and their next two games are very important, as they will have a bye in Week 8 before heading to Houston to play the Texans. The team will travel to San Diego to play against the Chargers on ESPN on Monday night football in Week 6 and then they will have the anticipated matchup against the Broncos, who likely will be undefeated at 6-0. The game between the Indianapolis Colts and the San Diego Chargers will start up at 8:30 pm and will be on ESPN and the Watch ESPN website for Week 6.
