The Green Bay Packers are dealing with a number of injuries after defeating the Baltimore Ravens this past weekend and now the team knows that wideout Randall Cobb will be out for at least eight weeks after getting injured in the game on Sunday, as he was placed on injured reserve with the designation to return.
According to ESPN.com, Cobb was knocked out of the game against the Ravens with an injured leg (which is reported to be a broken fibula) and now that he has been placed on the IR with a designation to return, he will be out for a minimum of eight weeks and that means he could return for the final stretch of the season, starting December 15 against the Dallas Cowboys. The injury is a big blow for the Packers, as Cobb came into the game on Sunday as the leading receiver for the Packers and now he is done.
The Packers won on Sunday to try and keep pace in the NFC north and now they will have to overcome the injury to Cobb and they also lost James Jones in that game, meaning Aaron Rodgers could be without his top two receivers going forward this season. Cobb had 29 catches for 378 yards and two touchdowns before being injured.
