Nick Foles Fantasy Injury Starter Week 7: Matt Barkley Gets Value Boost With Michael Vick Not Starting Against Dallas Cowboys For Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up for a big game on Sunday, as they will be facing off against their co-leader in the NFC East in the Dallas Cowboys and with Michael Vick confirmed out, that means Nick Foles will be the starter for Philly in Week 8 of the season.

Foles played very well last week as the Eagles defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to improve to 3-3 and now they will get the chance to face off against the Dallas Cowboys, who are coming into the game after a win on Sunday night football against the Washington Redskins. Foles looked very comfortable in Chip Kelly's offense last week and the team is hoping that he can handle things again while going up against an improved Cowboys defense from last season now that Monte Kiffin is calling the shots.

Pro Football Talk reported that Vick will be out this week and the quarterback made the news himself and he will be out for the second straight week after dealing with a hamstring injury. The report says that Vick already knows that he will be out due to the hamstrung and that means his possible return could come in Week when the team hosts the New York Giants, which is who he injured the leg against in the first place when they played in Week 5, which was a win for the Eagles within the division, their second of the season.

Foles looked good last week and he should be a solid fantasy start on Sunday, as the team has been putting up pretty good numbers on offense under Chip Kelly and it helped that last week Foles completed over 70 percent of his passes with no turnovers. This season Foles has been accurate and smart with the ball, completing just over 67 percent of his passes overall with six touchdowns and zero interceptions and he could continue that against the Cowboys this weekend. Last week he has 296 yards passing and three touchdowns and now he will be facing off against a team that is giving up the third most passing yards per game, although that might be a bit skewed due to the Denver Broncos game from two weeks ago.

The Eagles are ranked ninth in the league in passing yards per game and first in rushing yards per game and that is no surprise with Kelly coming in, but what is more surprising is that Foles might end up being a better player to start than Vick. The QB has 1,185 yards this season and five TDs, but he is competing under 55 percent of his passes, way less than Foles, although he has more attempts.

Foles comes into the game after starting last week and playing the bulk against the Giants after Vick was injured and in that game he had two TDs and no picks and he had 197 yards passing while completing over 60 percent of his passes. In each of the past three weeks he has increased his yards and touchdown passes and now he could be in line for that again. Riley Cooper and the receivers may benefit from him playing as well, as Cooper had just six receptions in the first three games, but had four when Foles started along with a touchdown. Against the Bucs he finished with six targets and four catches for 120 yards and he also scored a TD and he is a solid start with Foles this week against the Cowboys.
