Tim Tebow Rumors: St. Louis Rams Interested After Sam Bradford Out for Season, Jeff Fisher Concerned as Kellen Clemons Only QB on Roster

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Sam Bradford is officially out for the remainder of the season, leaving the St. Louis Rams at a loss. An ACL tear has knocked the 2010 No. 1 overall draft pick on the sidelines and rumors are now surfacing of a potential Tim Tebow sighting in St. Louis.

The injury occurred late in the fourth quarter as the Rams lost to the Carolina Panthers. Bradford was scrambling towards the sidelines as safety Mike Mitchell pressures the quarterback as he stepped out of bounds. Bradford landed awkwardly and was carted off to the locker room. Bradford left the stadium on crutches and in a brace. An MRI confirmed the ACL tear.

With Bradford out, Kellen Clemens is the only other quarterback the Rams had. The veteran ran the practice squad while also being the backup on Sundays. The lack of depth has St. Louis scrambling for options, so naturally Tebow's name is the first brought up.

Michael Silver of the NFL Network reports the Rams are considering signing the quarterback, but nothing is official just yet. While Silver notes the signing is an absolute longshot, internal discussions have occurred about the quarterback currently sitting on the free agent market. If the Rams did make a move, it would give St. Louis two 2010 first round draft pick quarterbacks on their roster.

Discussions around Tebow have been quiet since the quarterback was released by the New England Patriots. Since getting drafted in 2010, Tebow has made his way through three different teams in the league. He was dealt to New York in 2012 after getting drafted by the Denver Broncos as a rookie. The Jets released Tebow after a year. The New England Patriots then picked him up as a potential backup, but again he was released as the team opted to carry just two quarterbacks on the roster.

The Rams are likely to work out several quarterbacks before making a decision. There is no confirmation that Tebow will be one of the players invited, the rumors are inevitable since he is the most high-profile player currently without a team.
