The Washington Redskins and Robert Griffin III are ready for Peyton Manning this week on the NFL schedule and after losing to the Colts on Sunday night football, the formerly undefeated Broncos will be looking to get back in the win column with a game at home against another NFC East opponent.
The Washington Redskins played a shootout game against the Chicago Bears and won this past weekend and now Griffin will have to do it against one of the best teams in the league. Here's a little flashback for RG3 to the summer: It's a slow news day here at Sports World Report, so here is a nice flashback for anyone that is interested, looking back over the summer at Robert Griffin III's wedding day scandal, which was broken by Busted Coverage but ended up being nothing more than someone trying to make some money.
Back in the summer, according to Deadspin and Busted Coverage, someone tried to show off text messages and photos to a Hooters waitress and VCU student named Meredith Barber that were from his wedding day. There were also Twitter conversations that tried to get sold as Griffin tweeting at her and at one point, someone was trying to get money for the pictures and the text messages from Deadspin and they later went to Busted Coverage for it instead.
Some of the messages included about Barber and she said that she connected to him through his best man, William Mallow and tweeted out a number of messages, including one of her saying that she missed him and later one from the day of the wedding as well as pictures that were supposedly from Griffin. Later on it turned out to be nothing, but the story was a bit stupid and funny and so here is a link to the original story.
Later the groomsman called the story false and the website also said that they were asked by an ex-boyfriend of Barber's about FaceTime pictures and other evidence about the relationship, but they declined. Griffin is starting to show form again after coming back from a knee injury and he comes back after passing for over 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns while also adding over 800 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. The team is coming off of a shootout win against the Chicago Bears and then the team will head into a game with the Chargers before playing the Vikings.
The second part of the season has games against the 49ers and the Giants twice, as well as matchups against the Chiefs, Falcons and also the Philadelphia Eagles after losing the opening game of the season. The team also has the Monday night game against the 49ers in Week 12.
