Red Sox Playoff Schedule: World Series Game Time, TV, Lineups and Starting Pitcher

The Boston Red Sox are back in the World Series for the first time since 2007. A lot has happened since then as the Red Sox's roster has been flipped and three different managers have been in charge of the team. However, with all that in the past, here's a look at their World Series schedule for the remainder fo the playoffs.

Game 1 Time: 7:30 p.m. ET

Game 1 TV Schedule: Watch on FOX

Opponent: St. Louis Cardinals

The last bit of information is a bit useless since it's the World Series and everybody by this point knows who the Red Sox are facing. The Red Sox and Cardinals meet again. This time, however, the Red Sox do not have the huge momentum carrying over from the ALCS when they won the last four from the Yankees after facing a three-game deficit.

The Cardinals are a team supported by the pitching, but with a complimentary offense. The hitting was inconsistent throughout the playoffs. At times, the Cardinals did not have somebody to count on if Carlos Beltran was not hitting. Matt Carpenter was not getting on base and Matt Holliday was having trouble finding his swing.

The Red Sox will have to find a way to control the Cardinals' bats, while their offense will have to make contact. They were able to get by the Detroit Tigers' dominant starters, but do not expect the Cardinals' bullpen to give up much as they were lights out throughout the playoffs.

Jon Lester will get the ball in Game 1 and he has been dominant in all of his starts this postseason. In 19.1 innings pitched, Lester has a 2.33 ERA with a 2-1 record. He has pitched at least five innings in all three starts and surrendered no more than two runs per start.

The Red Sox lineup has yet to be posted, but we will give you a tentative lineup for now.

Boston Red Sox Lineup
1. Jacoby Ellsbury CF
2. Shane Victorino RF
3. Dustin Pedroia 2B
4. David Ortiz DH
5. Mike Napoli 1B
6. Jarrod Saltalamacchia C
7. Jonny Gomes LF
8. Stephen Drew SS
9. Xander Bogaerts 3B

The advantage of having Bogaerts bat ninth is that he brings speed to the bottom of the lineup. When the Red Sox turn the lineup over, they will have Bogaerts, Ellsbury and a contact hitter in Victorino, who has always been dangerous with men on base, hitting in order. Speed kills, though Yadier Molina will be a patrol behind the plate.
