Do not miss the action as the baseball season is coming to a close. The 2013 World Series is now up to Game 5 as the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox meet again Monday night. It has been a Fall Classic to remember and those outside of North America will enjoy the action online for a small fee.
What can fans expect from tonight's matchup?
A lot of pitching and possible miracle stories. In Game 3 it was Allen Craig who scored the winning run. Craig limped off the field as the Cardinals' training staff quickly attended to their first baseman. Craig missed the last month of the season because of a bad foot and it seemed like Craig rolled over that foot when sliding into the plate. When Craig lined a single to right field in Game 4, he was limping and you can clearly see the first baseman was in pain. Instead of a double, he could only get a single.
Could Craig be the modern day Bob Gibson? Gibson fist pumped and limped around the basepads after hitting a walk-off home run for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1988. It is one of baseball's most classic moments. Craig will start on Monday and he will have plenty of chances to hit in this game.
For the Red Sox, different guys have already experienced heroics. In Game 1, Jon Lester dominanted, pitching almost eight innings of scoreless baseball. In Game 4, it was Jonny Gomes homering after being a late addition to the lineup. However, David Ortiz and his .727 batting average have led the headline. It is almost impossible to get this guy out and the Cardinals are trying to pitch around him. Gomes hit was clutch and maybe, the Cardinals will show some respect and stop walking Ortiz after the three-run jack in Game 4.
If Adam Wainwright is on point, then there is no reason to believe the Cardinals and Red Sox offenses will have a fun time at the plate. Both of these guys are two of the best pitchers in baseball. Lester has been arguably one of the best, second to Michael Wacha, while Wainwright reputation as a great pitcher has simply followed him into the postseason.
