Justin Blackmon Trade Rumors: Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins and Eagles Deal Options For Jaguars WR?

The Jacksonville Jaguars are the prime team everyone is talking about heading into the NFL trading deadline on Tuesday, as they have a number of talented players that could get dealt as they try to rebuild, including names like Justin Blackmon, Maurice Jones-Drew, Jason Babin and Mercedes Lewis as well as linebacker Paul Posluszny.

Blackmon is one of the top options for the team to deal and Pro Football Talk reported last week that it was possible the young receiver could be traded and some teams that fit are the San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts, as each of those teams lost a number one receiver at some point to a serious injury. The Colts are down Reggie Wayne and with the team looking very strong this season, they could try and go for broke and yes, they already traded for Trent Richardson, but imagine adding another top five pick to that offense from the 2012 draft. That is one reason why it's impossible and will never happen, but that's such a fun idea.

The Colts already have the number one pick and the third pick from the 2012 draft in Andrew Luck and Trent Richardson and adding Blackmon would bring the fifth pick in the draft to the offense as well. Either way, the Colts are in need and so are the 49ers after losing Michael Crabtree, but they have been quiet mostly apart from trading for Jon Baldwin and coming up in rumors about Josh Gordon, so they likely are not prepared for a big deal like this. The Packers are a more conservative organization, but a couple years removed from the Super Bowl and with Randall Cobb and James Jones on the shelf, this could be the perfect time to re-energize the offense, which is humming along this season after finally creating a rushing attack for Aaron Rodgers.

Blackmon missed games for being suspended and that is one reason why he could be traded and he has been very productive this season, catching 29 balls in four games for over 400 yards to rank third in the league in yards per game. Blackmon busted out with a five catch, 136 yard performance in his first game back and he has been the best player on offense since, catching 14 balls his next game on 20 targets against the Broncos for 190 yards. Blackmon has been targeted in the double digits in half his games this season and he will continue to be a solid wide receiver with ability if he can keep his issues off the field from spiraling out of control.

Another player that could go is Jones-Drew, as his contract is up after this season and while he is getting older, the veteran still can be a productive back in this league. This season Jones-Drew has not been crazily productive, but for a team that is winless and hasn't scored much through half the year, he is doing pretty well with nearly 400 yards rushing and two touchdowns. The Jaguars may decide to sit tight, but the team is in a position to start rebuilding and usually the best way to do that is draft picks and that is what they will likely look for if they decide to trade Jones-Drew or Blackmon.
