There was another twist to the Eden Hazard saga, with the Belgian claiming on Twitter "I have made up my mind."
Hazard, one of the hottest properties in soccer, is being wooed by Manchester United, Man City and Chelsea. The Belgian said on his twitter feed: "Good afternoon guys. I made up my mind. See you later. Thanks.
Former United striker and current Tottenham forward Louis Saha immediately tweeted: "I wish Tottenham or Man United get him. There is plenty of goals and assists in him. Good tricks too, but he's a very effective player."
Saha followed that up with another tweet, saying: "Apparently on his way to Chelseafc."
Hazard's possible future team-mate Branislav Ivanovic has admitted that Real Madrid are interested in him, but said he is happy at Chelsea.
It is understood that Jose Mourinho has made the 28-year old Ivanovic on of his main targets with the Chelsea defender having another consistent season. However, Ivanovic said that while he was flattered, he was happy at his current club.
"I know what has been written about my future and that Madrid have been following me, but now is not the time to talk about this" the Serbian told Marca after his country's friendly against Spain.
"I'm focused on the national team now and I am very happy at Chelsea.
"I won the Champions League just a week ago and to think about changing clubs now is very complicated. I'm very happy in London."
Madrid were reportedly ready to make a bid $20 million bid for Ivanovic, who joined Chelsea from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2008.
Meanwhile, the Sunday Mirror reports that Roman Abramovich is ready to play the waiting game to tempt Pep Guardiola to come to Chelsea.
"Abramovich is willing to have Guardiola parked for a year if it means getting him. He will play the long game if he has to. Di Matteo and Harry Redknapp are options for one year," Mirror quoted a source as saying.
However, Manchester United are also looking at Guardiola as a replacement for Alex Ferguson when he retires. But, Abramovich is determined to tempt the Spaniard and build Chelsea in the mould of Barcelona.
The Stamford Bridge club are reportedly closing in on Ajax fullback Gregory van der Wiel with Chelsea reportedly stepping up their interest in midfielder Luka Modric while Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao and Porto's Hulk remain their primary targets. The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder failed in an attempt to move to the Blues last year after Tottenham rejected Chelsea's $60 million bid. However, with Tottenham losing out on a place in the Champions League to Chelsea, the North London club will find it hard to keep hold of the Croatian playmaker.
Tottenham are also facing a fight to keep Gareth Bale, with the midfielder reportedly telling the management he wants to leave. Barcelona and Real Madrid are monitoring the left-footed winger and could be ready to pounce.
Tottenham are still in negotiations with Manchester City to keep Emmanuel Adebayor while the Metro claims Tottenham have failed in a bid to sign Brazilian sensation Leandro Damiao.
