Check out the live streaming action as both Djokovic and Federer take the court at 3 p.m. ET/8 p.m. GMT as they look to capture a victory that would allow them to advance to the following round of the championship tournament.
Djokovic enter the match as the defending 2012 Barclays World Tour Finals champion. Ironically, though they meet in the first round, it was Djokovic who defeated Federer in the finals of last year's tournament to claim the title.
Throughout their careers, both Djokvic and Federer have traded blows. One player has never really dominated the other. in their 30 matches, Federer holds the longest win streak, winning four straight when Djokovic was first breaking into the pros. Djokovic's most succesful run against Federer came at the start of the 2011 season when the Serbian eliminated Federer from the Australian Open in the semifinals. He later beat Federer at Dubai and follwed this up with a victory over Federer at Indian Wells. Federer later sneaked in a victory at the 2011 French Open, before Djokovic went on another three-match winning streak.
The last time these two players met in Paris at the end of October. Djokovic won that match in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, eliminating Federer in the semifinals.
It seems like everything points to Djokovic having the advantage in this matchup. Djokovic is the No. 2 and the entire world is watching Federer digress. Djokovic is 67-9 in 2013, while Federer is 43-15 with only one title to his name. Whether he struggles in 2013 or not, Federer is without a doubt one of the best tennis players of all time, if not the best.
