Miami Heat Rumors: LeBron James and Big 3 To Skip Free Agency In Summer 2014? King Becomes Fifth Player To Score 10 Points In 500 Straight Games

The Miami Heat look back on track after stumbling a bit top open the season and LeBron James set a new milestone with a streak of 10 or more points in 500 games and leading into the end of the season, could the Big Three with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade avoid free agency in 2014 all together?

Everyone assumes that James will opt out and hit free agency, but according to Pro Basketball Talk, there is a chance the three could put off their early termination options to the summer after, setting up a crazy 2015 free agency class. James is obviously the top player of the three and the Heat want to keep him and he may never hit the market, as an extension and the delay could be in the makings. Either way, he was impressive while hitting his milestone, as he scored 10 points in 500 straight games, becoming the fifth player to do it along with Moses Malone, Karl Malone, Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who did it twice.

James is putting himself into even more storied territory with all his milestones and records and now he has put himself in with some of the greats once again. He hit the mark after putting in a rebound against the Raptors in the first quarter on Tuesday and his first date for this streak was back in 2007 when he had 10 points against the then New Jersey Nets. According to ESPN.com, James has scored 50 points more times than he has scored under 10 points and that is quite the accomplishment as well.

James, Wade and Bosh likely want to keep playing together and Miami could work with them on extensions or other possibilities that could keep them off the market in 2014. Of course, teams like the Lakers, Knicks and others will chase if they hit free agency.
