Oakland Raiders Rumors: Matt McGloin Leads Win Over Texans Without Terrelle Pryor and Darren McFadden As Rookie To Start Week 12 For Dennis Allen?

The Oakland Raiders pulled out a nicer victory against the Houston Texans on Sunday despite not scoring in the fourth quarter and the team was led by undrafted rookie quarterback Matt McGloin, who was starting in place of the injured Terrelle Pryor and he could now be in line to start next week against the Titans as well.

McGloin was named the starter with Pryor out with a knee injury and now that he played well against the Texans, there is a good chance that he will get to start again next Sunday against the Titans when they visit Oakland. The Raiders had high hopes for McGloin and now they appear to be paying off, as the team released Matt Flynn rather than McGloin and he has stuck with the team since training camp and the preseason and now he is getting the chance to show everyone why. McGloin had some nice throws on Sunday, including a beautiful touchdown pass to tight end Mychal Rivera and now he could even be a solid fantasy option going forward for the team.

Head coach Dennis Allen did not say whether or not Pryor would start next week and that might be determined by health anyway. Pryor had been solid to start the season, but he has not been as efficient in recent weeks and after getting banged up against the Giants, he was ruled out for Sunday and he dealt with a tough stretch while throwing eight picks between TDs and now McGloin has the chance to continue impressing his teammates and it's even more impressive that he won without Darren McFadden starting, as he has been dealing with a hamstring issue.

McGloin went 18 of 32 in his first career start with just under 200 passing yards and he had three touchdowns on the day with a 105.0 passer rating and that has Allen and the team excited. Pryor was dealing with a sprained MCL and he did not look good in the loss against the Giants and now it looks like McGloin could continue getting to start. The last time he played was a couple weeks ago against the Eagles in the blowout game and he had 87 yards with no picks or touchdowns. Being undefeated makes it even more special for McGloin and he started the game off very well, missing on only four of 11 passes to start things off and he moved the ball around, going to seven different players on targets.

The Raiders next play the Titans and this season they are ranked fourth in rushing yards per game on offense and heading into the back stretch they have a number of tough games. The team plays on the road against the Cowboys and Jets after the Titans and then has games against the Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos.
