MLB Trade Rumors: Ike Davis Wants To Stay With Mets As Baltimore Orioles, Colorado Rockies, Brewers and Rays Interested In New York 1B?

The Texas Rangers and the Detroit Tigers pulled off a huge trade with Prince Fielder and Ian Kinsler and that could open the door for more trades this offseason and one player that could potentially move is Mets first baseman Ike Davis, as he has been checked on by a number of teams, including the Baltimore Orioles, Colorado Rockies, Brewers and Rays as well as the Astros.

According to Hardball Talk, Davis could potentially be traded this offseason after dealing with a rough year last season and the team has already been linked to offers from during this past season. The report says Lucas Duda could also be moved and that Davis potentially could get traded after falling off from a 30 home run season to getting demoted to the minors. Davis said that he would like to remain with the Mets, but that is obviously something that is out of his control and after having such a bad season after having a solid one, the team may be ready to give up on him as a regular first baseman.

The Rockies and Rays could be nice fits for what the Mets could ask in return and after making $3.125 million last year, he may get a raise in arbitration despite having a bad season and Jon Heyman reported that the Brewers are also an option.

"I just want a chance to play," Davis said earlier this week in a telephone interview. "Honestly, I've loved my time with the Mets. I'm still a Met right now and I don't want to get traded. But that part of the game is not up to us. You want to stay, but you don't have any say in it."
