The Seattle Seahawks are the best team in the NFC and with the New Orleans Saints awaiting on Monday night football in Week 13, the secondary is getting very thin after Brandon Browner and Walter Thurmond were suspended, leading the team to sign Perrish Cox and wideout Golden Tate to call out his teammates as selfish.

According to ESPN.com, Thurmond and Browner are facing suspensions for violating league policies for various reasons (and according to Pro Football Talk, Browner's might be a matter of bad timing and circumstance), but either way, Thurmond could miss four games and Browner a year and that led Tate to say on the radio in Seattle that his teammates were :selfish". The Seahawks are 10-1 on the season and the Saints are 9-2 and this matchup likely will help decide home field advantage in the NFC playoffs. The Seahawks have had this issue for some time, as Thurmond could be the seventh player to get hit with a suspension and while Richard Sherman's was overturned, this is a disturbing trend for the Hawks.

The Seahawks have one of the best pass defenses in the league and losing that depth will hurt, which is why the team signed Perrish Cox after he was released by the San Francisco 49ers to help with that. Cox is a solid player after starting nine games for the Broncos a couple years ago, but after some off the field issues he missed time before playing with the 49ers and getting released this month. The Seahawks also may look into signing back veteran Antoine Winfield and that could help with depth later in the season if he comes in after Monday night.

The Saints have the top rated offense in the NFC in passing yards and the game will be in Seattle and is huge for conference positions in the playoffs. Thurmond can come back to the team later next month before the Seahawks play against the Arizona Cardinals and until then they will have to get by without him.
