EPL Table Standings: Barclays English Premier League Has Arsenal Leading Chelsea and Manchester City After Boxing Day

The English Premier League table and EPL standings has Arsenal back on top over Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool after a great day of matches on the schedule and now the Gunners are back in first place over the Reds heading into the weekend slate of games and they are ahead by one point.

The Barclays English Premier League table has a number of skilled teams at the top part of the standings and it's Arsenal leading the league over Chelsea and Manchester City as the EPL schedule hits Wednesday and all three clubs will be in action, with the Gunners taking on Hull City at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal has been the top team in the league this season and they have played very well overall, winning 10 of 13 matches while losing just twice and also pulling one draw to stay in first place with 31 points. Chelsea has done its part as well, trailing by four points and they come in with an 8-3-2 record, while Manchester City is in third place with 25 points and they are six back of Arsenal after winning eight matches and drawing once. The Gunners have been the most impressive team on the table and on Wednesday they will try and continue that play against Hull City, while Chelsea takes on Sunderland and Manchester plays West Bromwich Albion.

Chelsea comes into the day on Wednesday after getting a nice win on Sunday against Southampton and the team showed some great poise, as they allowed an early goal in the first minute from Jay Rodriguez before storming back. The team got their first goal to tie the match from Gary Cahill, while John Terry was the one to put the team ahead for good at 2-1 before Demba Ba scored in the 90th minute for the 3-1 victory. Manchester City comes into the day after winning over Swansea City by the score of 3-0 and they were powered along from two goals by Sami Nasri.

Arsenal played their match on Saturday and it was all Gunners as they visited Cardiff City and the main reason the team won was the play of former CC star Aaron Ramsey, who scored twice in the match. Arsenal was on top early and dominated the game, with Ramsey scoring twice in the matchup and he remained classy in his celebrations, as he respected his former fans.

The rest of the table is rounded out in the top six with Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle United and past that are Southampton, Manchester United and Tottenham in ninth. Liverpool is coming off of an upset loss last weekend and on the table Hull City is right behind the Spurs in 10th place, while Aston Villa is next on the table. The rest of the standings are fairly close in points and West Bromwich Albion is just ahead of Swansea City and Norwich City and past that are West Ham United, Stoke City and Cardiff City. The bottom part of the EPL table has Fulham, Crystal Palace and Sunderland and that could mean some relocation, while Arsenal and the top three are looking for the Champions League spots.
