The Chicago Bulls are dealing with a tough situation when it comes to Derrick Rose being out for the season and to help solidify things with depth in the back court, the team has brought in NBA free agent guard DJ Augustin on a contract and that should help the team get things going as they hit the December stretch of the schedule.
According to Pro Basketball Talk, Augustin will sign with the team after passing a physical and it happened after he cleared waivers and now the team will bring him in to play with the starting lineup possibly after Jimmy Butler and Mike James got banged up. The Bulls are dealing with a number of injuries and they lost the second game of a back to back against the Knicks on Wednesday and now they will have some more depth after starting rookie Tony Snell in the matchup.
Augustin had previously signed with the Raptors and he was let go on Monday and now the Bulls snagged him to help out with depth as they deal with Rose being out of the lineup. Augustin is not a consistent scorer, but he is a capable guard and he will help the team with rotation and sub issues going forward. The Bulls were 8-10 coming into the Knicks game and after playing in just 10 games with the Raptors he averaged two points in eight minutes per contest.
