The Denver Broncos are one of the scariest teams to play in the NFL for defenses that are weak against the pass and on Thursday night football in Week 15, the San Diego Chargers are the next team on the schedule and the NFL Network TV broadcast will start up at 8:25 pm from Sports Authority Field at Mile High for the AFC West divisional tilt.
The Broncos come into the game after scoring 50 points for the third time this season against the Tennessee Titans in their win last week and the team now is 11-2 on the season and moving closer to a division title and the number one seed in the AFC. Peyton Manning has been nothing short of amazing and barring some unlikely craziness, he will win another MVP award and that was set in stone after he tossed seven touchdowns in the opening game of the season against the ravens. Manning has been fantastic this year and he arguably could get to 5,000 yards and more than 50 touchdowns, as he already is over 4,000 yards and 45 scores this season.
Manning has a number of receivers to look at with Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Wes Welker, Julius Thomas and Jacob Tamme and he has been helped along by a very productive rushing attack with Knowshon Moreno and Montee Ball. Manning has weapons all over the place and even though Welker will be out for the game on Thursday night, Manning should be able to feast on a Chargers passing defense that ranks near the bottom of the league in yards allowed per game. The Broncos are ranked first worth over 340 yards per contest and they are also gaining over 120 yards on the ground and they put up over 500 on the Titans last week and that was another defense they embarrassed this season, which they did to the Cowboys, Eagles and Giants as well as the Ravens and Redskins.
The defense has its question marks, but no team in the league has been scoring like the Broncos and they have the chance to get things right on D over the final couple weeks before resting during the bye in the playoffs and the team has already clinched their spot, so all they need to do now is get the AFC West crown and home field in the conference through the playoffs. Manning has been excellent against tough opponents and it seems that this year he has not been affected at all by the cold after playing rough games in Kansas City, New England and Tennessee and he even said to his critics that they should shove it about his cold weather play. Last season Manning and the Broncos were defeated in the playoffs by the Ravens after a boneheaded mistake and now they will try and rectify that and after playing the Chargers the team finishes the season on the road against the Houston Texans and the Oakland Raiders.
