The Carolina Panthers have been one of the best teams in the NFC this season after missing the playoffs last year and they can really solidify their playoff position on Sunday with a win in Week 15 against the New York Jets and that comes after a loss on Sunday night football last week to the Saints and that is who they are up against at home after this matchup and the game starts at 4:05 pm on CBS.
The Panthers have been one of the most impressive teams in the NFL this season and they went into the matchup against the Saints not having lost in quite some time and now they will look to get back on track against the Jets. Cam Newton is having a great season after dipping a bit last year and the defense has been amazing, ranking in the top five in total defense as well as passing and rushing yards allowed per game. The team is ranked in the top 10 in rushing yards per game with Newton and the running backs, while the passing offense is ranked 29th, but it has done what it needs to do each week with Brandon LaFell and Steve Smith and those players have been very solid for Newton. The team finishes the season with the saints and the Falcons and the final game will be on the road after the next two games are at home.

The Jets kept their slim playoff hopes alive with a win against the Raiders last weekend and now the team plays on the road against the Panthers before playing against the Browns and the team comes in with the second ranked rushing defense and that battle on Sunday will be the main focus for both teams, as it's the unit that each team does best. The Jets are coming in with Geno Smith at quarterback and Cam Newton is the trajectory they would love to have for him and this game is a must win and is important for the Panthers as well if they want to have any chance of catching the Saints and they need some help as well and the game on Sunday will be on CBS.
