Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Dez Bryant Defends Tony Romo After Troy Aikman Ripped QB Decision Making, DeMarco Murray to Carry Offense in Week 16

The Dallas Cowboys control their own destiny and Dez Bryant would not want anyone else helping in that effort than Tony Romo. The quarterback has come under heavy scrutiny ever since an audible at the line of scrimmage lead to an interception that sealed another December loss for the Cowboys. As everyone comes out speaking against Romo as the starting quarterback, Bryant believes the veteran is the best for the job.

Bryant and Romo had a little disagreement during the loss to the Green Bay Packers. Bryant wanted more air on the balls. When Romo gave it to him, the wide receiver failed to come up with the catches. While Bryant admits his mistake, he is confident that Romo is the best option for the Cowboys now and for the future.

"That's our guy," Bryant said, via the Dallas Morning News. "We all love him. Things happen. Unfortunate things happen. Those things can be fixed. That's by staying together. If you make a guy feel like you've got trust in him, you believe in him and you're behind him, it makes you go extra hard just like me. If I'm down and I know I've got somebody behind me, keeping me up, you're going to make me work harder than I worked before. We're all behind him."

While Bryant might be confident in Romo, there are a few others not feeling as great about the quarterback. Former NFL star Troy Aikman spoke out about the play calling and decision making by Romo and the Cowboys. The team backed away from the run game in the second half of the game, leading to a blown lead and another December loss.

"They were about to run Green Bay right out of the stadium," Aikman said. "The philosophy has always been you throw the ball early in games to build the lead, you run the ball late to win games. And I believe in that. That's the way we did it in the '90s. I think, by and large, that's the way Jason Garrett would prefer to do it. But if there was ever a time that DeMarco Murray should have had 25 carries in a game, that was it."

Despite all of the criticism, Romo remains confident the Cowboys can run the table for the remainder of the season and get into the playoffs after the final two-game push. Romo went as far as to say the Cowboys are thrilled to be in the position they are in and he is positive things will not turn out like they did last season.
