Oakland Raiders Rumors: Terrelle Pryor Cut After Season Likely As Jay Cutler or Johnny Manziel Top Quarterback Option For 2014?

The Oakland Raiders are heading for another 4-12 season under head coach Dennis Allen and while there still is a game left to be played,  big changes could be coming to the franchise and that could include at quarterback for Terrelle Pryor, as options like Johnny Manziel in the draft and Jay Cutler as a free agent could be possibilities in the 2014 season.

The Raiders have had an up and down year to say the least and while they have had some improvements from last season, quarterbacks Terrelle Pryor and Matt McGloin have not been that great and now the question becomes whether either player is the QB of the future for the franchise. The team thought it could be Matt Flynn when they traded for him from the Seattle Seahawks, but he was released and is now on the Green Bay Packers as a backup again, meaning the Raiders could be at square one when the season ends once again.

Both Pryor and McGloin have been given their chances and while they are young, Mark Davis might want some better results and if he keeps Dennis Allen at head coach, the team may try and get Cutler as a free agent or someone like Johnny Manziel or Teddy Bridgewater in the draft. The Raiders have had problems getting their offense going for the past couple years and while Allen has not had much to work with, he still may get the can.

The Raiders have put themselves in a very good position financially for the first time in years with Reggie McKenzie getting rid of a number of bad contracts and dead money and that means the team can spend in the offseason if they choose to do so. Cutler will be an interesting player in free agency, as the Chicago Bears let him get to this point and while he will command a nice amount of money, it remains to be seen whether the Bears will be the team to do it. The Raiders need a big time quarterback and they haven't had one of those in years and it might behoove the team to overpay for Cutler to get some respectability back. Cutler has been injured once again this season and that could be a reason why the Bears don't pony up the cash for him and the Raiders could be an option for him, or one of the top quarterbacks in the draft, as the Raiders will have a high draft pick.

The team is currently 4-11 this season and they finish against the Denver Broncos and the likely means a second straight 4-12 season and that could be enough for Allen to get fired. The team lost to the Chargers last week and with Darren McFadden banged up once again this season, he likely will be gone as a free agent and that also could leave some money to burn on Cutler.
