Jets: Sanchez Invites Tebow to 'Jets West'

At this point in time, it appears that the Jets brass were being sincere when they insisted that there was no QB controversy brewing between their incumbent Mark Sanchez and newcomer Tim Tebow.

Sanchez has been looking sharp in camp while Tebow is letting his poor mechanics show. Perhaps the former "Mile High Messiah" will show some fundamental improvement upon his return from Sanchez's annual "Jets West" camp in California.

The unofficial meeting is funded by Sanchez and will be entering its third year of existence.  Since many of the Jets offensive players are invited to attend, starters and reserves alike, Tebow will not be the first backup QB to attend.  He will, however, be the first who could theoretically challenge Sanchez for a starting role.

It had briefly appeared that Sanchez was in the clear this past winter when the Jets front office extended his contract in a vote of confidence.  Days later, the organization traded away a 4th round draft pick for Tebow.  The move drew speculation because of Tebow's popularity and the mid-round price that the Jets paid is incredibly steep for a player intended to mind the sidelines.

Regardless, Sanchez did not deny his theoretical competition a chance to join the team and improve.

Santonio Holmes, the Jets top WR has not attended any OTA's thus far and is not expected to make the trip to "Jets West."
