The AFC Playoffs schedule has the wild card teams all set after the San Diego Chargers made it in over the Steelers with a win against the Chiefs and now San Diego will be playing against the Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs will be up against the Colts in Indy for the first round weekend games and now the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots are the top teams and have the first round byes and Peyton Manning has home field advantage.
The Chargers played a thrilling game that went into overtime and was a huge victory for Philip Rivers and there was some controversy at the end and the Chiefs ended up just short at the end and now the team will be in the fifth spot against the Colts and the Chargers will have to travel to play the Cincinnati bengals, who have been very good at home. The Broncos will get the lowest seed after the wild card weekend and the Patriots will have the other team and those two clubs can get to the championship game with just one victory and they will be hosting the games as the top seeds.
The Steelers ended up 8-8 and they needed the Chargers to lose the game against the Chiefs to get in and now they have the chance to make some noise as the number six team and they are in the playoffs in the first year under Mike McCoy. The NFC was very exciting as well with the Green Bay Packers winning the game against the Chicago Bears on a thrilling play from Aaron Rodgers to Randall Cobb and now the NFC is mostly set with the Eagles and Cowboys still playing. The Denver Broncos ended up with the number one seed, home field advantage and a first round bye, while the Patriots have a first round bye and home playoff game in the second week and the Bengals come in as the AFC North champs and the three seed, while the Colts have the South title and the fourth seed and the Chiefs are in the fifth seed and will play in Indy, while San Diego hits the road as the sixth seed to play against the Bengals in Cincy.
