Carlos Tevez Wants to Stay With Man. City Before Finishing with Boca Juniors

Carlos Tevez wants to stay with Manchester City before finishing his career with his former club Boca Juniors.

The proclamation is a complete reversal from where Tevez stood last year, when the Argentina national missed five months of the season after exiling himself from the club following an argument with manager Roberto Mancini.

Problems reached a tipping point when Tevez refused to enter 10 minutes into the second half of City's group stage defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Tevez returned to his home country, where he remained for months. His manager stood his ground and it looked as though Tevez, the leading scorer in the English Premier League a year earlier, would not return.

"If a player plays for Manchester City in the Champions League and earns a lot of money and does this, then he can never play for me again... For me he is finished," Mancini said.

But once City began to struggle and their title hopes were in question, both sides made peace and Tevez returned to the club. He and fellow Argentinian Sergio Aguero formed a lethal attack and helped lead Manchester City to the English Premier League title.

Winning helps heal wounds, as now Tevez is happy staying with the English side. "But the truth is that I finished the season very happy in England," Tevez said. "I am feeling good, I have no desire to be thinking that I want to leave, my family are happy."

Tevez however, reiterated his desire to end his career with Boca Juniors, the Argentine club he left in 2004. "My biggest wish is to finish my career in the Boca shirt. I am still thinking the same as when I left, I want to retire here. I am here for whatever Boca need," he said.

Tevez left Boac to play for the Brazilian club Corinthians before heading to the EPL. He has played for West Ham United, Manchester United and Manchester City since.
