Friday, Andrew Luck Reports to Camp

Coach Chuck Pagano, Colts fans and all of football has been waiting for the day Andrew Luck steps on a football field with his future teammates. That day is quickly coming.

Andrew Luck, NFL's No. 1 overall draft pick, will graduate tomorrow from Stanford University. This grants him the liberty to leave Palo Alto and join the Indianapolis, Colts in training camp.

Pagano, who will enter his first season as the Colts' head coach, has considered Luck's unavailability as "days lost." The team is starting fresh and will need Luck to return focused and be ready to go.

The Colts enter their first season since 1997 without Peyton Manning on their team. Season-ending neck surgery caused Manning to miss all of last season.

Luck was drafted first by the Colts and Manning was sent packing as the team refused to approve his $28 million signing bonus. Luck is considered an NFL-ready quarterback and will immediately become the Colts' starter.

Andrew Luck was Stanford's quarterback for three years. He amassed 82 touchdowns and 9,430 yards. The touchdown totals rank him number one in school history.

His game is also characterized by accuracy as he had the highest completion percentage, .687 in Stanford's history. Luck was the runner up in back-to-back years for the Heisman.

Coach Pagano will enter is first season as head coach. Last year he was the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. There is no doubt that he will improve the Colts' defense, but having Luck in training camp will be important for the team.

The Colts only won two games in 2011. The quicker Luck can get on the field, the better chances he will have succeeding in a new system and new league.
