Manchester United Transfer News: Ferguson Keen on Ajax Wonderkid Viktor Fischer; Bale on Both Manchester Club's Radar

Manchester United are favorites to land Ajax wonderkid Viktor Fischer while Newcastle United duo Yohan Cabaye and Papiss Demba Cisse ruled out a move to Old Trafford.

United have reportedly tabled a $14 million bid for the 17-year-old striker, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport. The Danish under-19 international, from the famed Ajax academy, has received rave reviews for his performances, especially in the Next Gen Series where he led Ajax to the finals, leading to some of the biggest clubs vying for his signature.

United face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich and AC Milan for the youngster's signature.

Newcastle United's Cabaye and Cisse, who have been linked with a move to both Manchester sides, pledged their commitment to their current club.

Frenchman Cabaye had a stellar debut season with Newcastle, pulling strings in the midfield at will and leading Newcastle to an improbable fifth-place finish. Cabaye said he is happy to stay with Newcastle. "At Newcastle we will play in the Europa League. The atmosphere is already huge at St James Park with us in the Premier League and it seems stronger now we're in Europe."

Cisse also, similarly, revealed his happiness at Newcastle. "I am very happy in Newcastle and I want to stay there for many years.

"We were close to a Champions League position so next season hopefully we will qualify for that and everyone will taste the Champions League.

"I am looking forward to next season."

Meanwhile, Juventus and Napoli are keen on bringing United captain Nemnja Vidic to Italy. Vidic has been rumored to be on his way to Italy plenty of times in the past and according to Sportsmediaset both Italian clubs have sounded out Vidic's agent Silvano Martina over a possible deal.

According to Caught Offside, United could be planning a sensational move for Gareth Bale. The Welsh international has said he is ready to move after Tottenham Hotspur missed out on a Champions League berth. United, famously failed to sign Bale as a teenager, with the winger choosing to sign for Spurs instead. Now Sir Alex Ferguson might look to bring him in as the perfect replacement for the ageing Ryan Giggs, who has been playing in the center of midfield off late.

Manchester City are also keen on Bale and are ready to throw in Emmanuel Adebayor and Adam Johnson to sweeten the deal.

Ajax and Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen has claimed he has not had any contact with Manchester City about a proposed move. "I don't think much about the market rumours," Eriksen told Jyllands Posten.

"I read in the papers that Manchester City and Anzhi are ready to spend millions on me. There is nothing concrete there.

"Which league would I like to play in? One of the English, Spanish or Italian championships.

"I want to play for a club that plays to win championships. If they don't, I might as well stay here."

Meanwhile, City are set to miss out on Javi Martinez after the Athletic Bilbao midfielder said he was happy to stay with the Spanish club.

Real Madrid's attempts at tempting David Silva to Spain have been scuppered after Silva's agent said the classy midfielder would stay with the English Premier League champions. "Silva has a long contract with Manchester City, and he's really valued there," Silva's agent Julio Llorente said. "I don't know what could happen in the future, but Silva wants to stay there."

According to the Telegraph, City manager Roberto Mancini is being considered for the Italian national team's coaching job, if current coach Cesare Prandelli decides to quit after Euro 2012. Mancini has just a year remaining on his current deal with City, but it is understood a new deal is on the table, although the Italian is yet to sign on the dotted line.
