NFL Mock Draft 2014: Ka'Deem Carey Joins Tre Mason, Carlos Hyde, De'Anthony Thomas, Tyler Gaffney, Andre Williams In RB Rankings

The NFL draft in 2014 is shaping up to be one of the deepest in recent memory and the running back position is a big reason why with names like Tre Mason, Carlos Hyde, De'Anthony Thomas, Andre Williams, Jeremy Hill, James White, Tyler Gaffney, Lache Seastrunk and Bishop Sankey all coming out and now another player has joined the rankings in Arizona Wildcats star Ka'Deem Carey.

According to ESPN.com, Carey has declared that he will enter the NFL draft this year after finishing his junior season with the Wildcats and he comes out of college football as one of the most productive RBs over the past few years. Carey led the nation in rushing last year and thus past season he was a finalist for the Doak Walker award after winning Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year and he was very impressive under head coach Rich Rodriguez, rushing for 1,885 yards despite missing the first game of the season.  Carey scored 18 touchdowns and led the conference with nearly 160 yards per game and during his career with Arizona he set nearly every rushing record that the school has and he has over 4,000 yards rushing during his time in college.

Carey is an impressive running back and his size at 5'10 and 196 pounds is right up the alley of what many of what these new offensive coordinators in the NFL are looking to do and he could be one of the first backs off the board depending on how workouts and the combine shake out. Carey was very consistent this season with over 100 yards in every game he played in and he has also shown that he can catch the ball out of the backfield, making 26 catches for 173 yards on the year to push him over 2,000 total yards for the year. Carey was impressive in the biggest game for Arizona, rushing for over 200 yards with four touchdowns in the upset against the Oregon Ducks.

Last season there was not a single first round selection at the running back position and this year many are projecting the first one to go in the second round, which is where Eddie Lacy, Giovani Bernard and Le'Veon Bell were selected. Players like Tre Mason, Carlos Hyde, De'Anthony Thomas, Andre Williams, Jeremy Hill, James White, Tyler Gaffney, Lache Seastrunk and Carey are expected to be the first backs taken this year.
