Rajon Rondo Rumors: Trade Possible As Boston Celtics PG Prepares For Los Angeles Lakers Return From Injury

The Boston Celtics are getting ready to get back their starting point guard in Rajon Rondo after he injured his knee last season and now it appears that he will be returning against the Los Angeles Lakers on January 17 and this comes as trade rumors continue to follow the team and the star.

Rondo has been mentioned in numerous trade rumors this season and during the offseason around the time that Kevin Garnett and Paul Peirce were dealt and while the team has been steadfast in their denials, the stories continue to follow. According to Pro Basketball Talk, Rondo is planning on making his return from ACL surgery on January 17 and that game will be against the Los Angeles Lakers and he wrote on Twitter that the date is the one planned for his comeback.

This would be just under a year since he had ACL surgery and now he is looking to make a comeback and it comes just a month ahead of the trading deadline. If Rondo plays well and the Celtics continue to lose, the trade talk will only get louder. The team has lost 12 of the past 13 games and the return of Rondo obviously will be a big boost to the offense which ranks near the bottom of the league in scoring.

The team is now 13-26 and after losing to the Rockets they will play against the Toronto Raptors in a divisional game and they will be one of the teams to watch at the trading deadline.
