Homer Bailey is a name that has come up a bit in trade rumors this offseason and while the Reds have said they are not planning on trading the starter, his name will continue to get connected to teams and some options for deals could be the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, NY Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers and Angels.
According to SB Nation, the Atlanta Braves could be a dark horse for the Reds pitcher after losing Tim Hudson to the Giants and this comes as the team is looking to sign him to an extension. That is the biggest point in any trade rumors for Bailey, as the team has been interested in extending him, but they do not want to overpay too much and that might be the only way they can keep him. The offseason market has died down a bit and with names still out there, these teams could get active to shore up any rotation issues getting closer to the season.
The Reds have some major questions heading into next season and the team has to see what they will do with Bailey, who went 11-12 with a 3.49 ERA last season and nearly 200 Ks.
