WWE: Randy Orton May Return as a Heel

It appears that should Randy Orton be allowed to return to WWE, he would prefer to do so as a heel.

Orton's Twitter account (@RandyOrton) tweeted "We can only pray" in response to a fan's inquiry as to whether or not the suspension would change his character's status as a face.

Despite a lack of popular heel characters, WWE had been continuing to use Orton as a face since his feud with (then heel) CM Punk in 2011.  Orton rose to prominence, however, because of his ability to draw incredible amounts of heat from the audience as well as his in-ring ability.

Though there is speculation suggesting that WWE would rather cut ties with Orton for the time being, he is expected to return in late July and will likely be given a match at Summer Slam.

Right now, WWE's Smackdown brand is without a top star.  John Cena, CM Punk, and other Raw stars are being brought over to aid Sheamus and the rest of the thinning roster.

Rumors had circulated that WWE was considering placing Orton against Brock Lesnar at one point, but that is no longer likely as Brock will be facing Triple H in August.  If Orton were truly to return a heel, a possible scenario could be an attack on a face title holder.
