Manchester United has been struggling in all leagues this season and now they have Juan Mata added to their lineup heading into the back stretch for the English Premier League, as the Chelsea midfielder now moves from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford and should help turn around Man U for David Moyes.
According to ESPN.com, the deal is for 37 million pounds and the transfer comes after Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid were possible destinations, but the Blues opted to sell him to their rival after the bid was right and Mata said he wanted to play there. Chelsea was happy with Eden Hazard and others and the way they were playing for Jose Mourinho and they felt that Mata was expendable and now they could go after Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.
Mata has started half the EPL matches for Chelsea and one Champions League match and now he will get the chance to star for Man U, who needs a big spark to get back into the thick of things after losing in the FA Cup and Capital One Cup. The English Premier League table will be hard to climb, but they have a chance.
Mata won the Player of the Season award from the club, but things soured this year and now he will move on.
